2017, let me upgrade you

'New Year, New Me’ this is something I used to often say but this year I have come to a new conclusion. In 2017 it is the same me but going to make a few upgrades that I vow to maintain throughout this year. Here are a few things that are manageable but enough to create an upgraded lifestyle to 2016.

1. Cooking

I vow to eat out less and eat in more, not only will this help increase my bank account but also my figure. I am going to increase my knowledge of the best organic recipes and add more greens to my diet. Meal prep would be amazing but I don’t want to get to ahead of myself and make promises I can’t keep.

2. Electrolyte Water

Electrolytes are sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and phosphate. They carry electrical charges and responsible for stimulating muscles and nerves. They also regulate the amount of fluids throughout your body, which affects cellular function, blood volume and blood pressure. This will prevent dehydration, balance PH levels, and reduce cellulite (yep! AMAZING) My favorite water: Crazy Water (made in my home state, Texas) Fiji, Generosity Water, and Essentia. I guarantee with these you will not go wrong.

3. Salt Lamp

While I am not one to believe in crazy healing stones, I have done my research and talked to many people about placing Salt Lamps in your bedroom. How does it work? As the lamp begins to heat up, negative ions are released into the air to create an ionizing effect. It will leave your bedroom air purified and a calm relaxing environment. On top of that some of the benefits include reducing anxiety, insomnia, and anxiety. This will you leave you a better night sleep and clear positive thoughts. Sound like its worth a try to me.

4. Essential Oils

Not only am I amping up my water intake but also 2017 has been denoted to health improvements and that means more use of essential oils. They are the most natural way to improve physical, mental, and emotional health. My favorites include frankincense, lavender, myth, peppermint, rosemary, eucalyptus, tea tree, and sandalwood. I mean if Jesus used them then they have to be beneficial.

5. Regular Sleep Pattern

While its fun to have stories to tell your friends about how you partied with celebs or had a crazy after party in the hills and hardly made it to work. What’s even better? Getting a full nights sleep in your Sterns and Foster pillow top cloud mattress, waking up 100% rejuvenated and refreshed with glowing awake skin, ready to take on the day. I invested in new pink silk sheets and pillow cases. Not only does silk leave you with a cool haven from night hot flashes but it leaves you with healthy, shiny hair.

6. Start Meditating

After my natural therapeutic body scan, one of my main struggles was not being able to shut off my brain. I am constantly thinking of new ideas, businesses, posts, styles, creative outlets, and only a few things can turn it off autopilot (glass of wine, sauna, and spa) In 2017, I am going to practice meditating and staying positive. Its help clarity of the mind, align your intentions with your actions, helps sleep, and prevents anxiety putting your brain on vacay.

7. Anti Aging and Preventative

I found a wrinkle and its time to get serious. Your 20’s should be the years of preventatives and so thats why skin care is my top priority. It starts with washing my face every night (cleanse, remove, tone, and moisturize) using the appropriate skin care products to do so. I am going to invest a little more into the most effective skin care for sensitive skin.

8. Change It. Do It.

There are many things we constantly pick apart telling ourselves we need to change and want to see a difference whether it is our career, body, skincare, mentality, mindset, relationships, hair… I could go on and on. My dad once told me you have three options in life: change it, accept it, or leave it. In 2017, I choose to change it. Change what I don’t want to accept, change my insecurities, and change my attitude to overcome any obstacles that have come my way. Watch every thought (why am I having this thought?) There is nothing on the other side of fear. Stop fearing there is nothing but your own exaggeration. There are no adults. Everyone's making it up as they go along. Figure it out yourself, and do it. So 2017, here we go. Let’s do this.
