I SHAVE MY FACE. WHY YOU SHOULD SHAVE YOUR FACE, TOO.

I know this may sound super weird and maybe a bit “un-lady-like”, but your face will never feel more feminine as it does after a good shave. I am telling you, it works, it’s safe, and it saves time compared to dermaplaning.

Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation that consists of using a 10-gauge scalpel to gently scrape off the top layer of dulling, dead skin cells and vellus (the thin, slightly-colored, barely noticeable facial hair).

Does it hurt?

No, no, no. Not at all. Depending on the apparatus, you literally can’t feel a thing.

How often do you have to shave?

Once a week, or once every other. It really depends on the person.

Does the hair grow back thicker and darker?

Not for me, and I have been doing it for over two years and have seen no difference in either.

Does a leg razor work?

Omg, no. DO NOT TRY THIS! (Unless a red rash is what you’re going for…) Use either an eyebrow razor, or another electric razor made specifically for this purpose.

Any other tips?

Before you start, make sure you wash your face… really well. If you skip this step, you are definitely setting yourself up for a breakout. But make sure your skin is completely dry after you wash and before you start.

What about after?

I like to use a toner right after, and then make sure you add oils to your face. I use Babor ampules (these literally bring my skin back to life).
