I bet you didn’t know that foot detoxes are becoming more and more popular as a way to rid the body of any harmful toxins.
Well, it’s true, ladies!
Potential toxins can range from impurities in the air, to chemicals in your home, and even in beauty products that can seep through your skin into your systems. Because of their surge in popularity, ionic foot detoxes are now being offered at some of the top health and wellness spas, at alternative health offices, and even for at-home use. Maybe the eastern tradition of fish spa and exfoliation truly does hold more weight than just a weird, tourist experience. Sneaky eastern medicine at it again…
A foot bath, some spas claim, can actually remove these toxins from your body right through your feet. It's called a foot detox and spas charge up to $85 for this “miraculous” treatment that supposedly draws toxins out of your body-through your feet- and into a tub of water that changes color based on the organs being detoxed. I mean, that is pretty crazy and worth feeding into the hype in my opinion.
What are the benefits of detox foot baths?
The purging of heavy metals form your body (no one needs to be more weighed down than we already are), a more balanced pH level (if you do not know how important this is… google it. Seriously.), reducing inflammation (one of the BEST things you can do for your body, your skin, and for the scale), the purging of yeast (yeast is never a good thing to have too much of in your body if you know what I mean...) detoxifying the liver (will counteract the glass of champagne you may be sipping through the treatment), an internal cleansing through a full-body purge (a painless purge? Umm.. yes, please), a liver, kidney, and parasite cleansing (effing disgusting, yes I want those out of me in any way, shape, or form), and it enhancing the immune system (which is always, always a plus). I would say if this is all true, or even one of these benefits is, this is a must do for your body’s upkeep.
