I found what stops my acne and I. Am. In. Love. It’s Light Therapy.
What is it?
There are two lights, red and blue, and the different colors do different things. The Red light therapy (sometimes called LLLT or low level laser therapy) involves emitting red, low-light wavelengths through the skin to stimulate cellular rejuvenation, increase blood flow, stimulate collagen and more. Umm… can we forget about needles and botox now? Maybe.
Red light therapy has shown promise for treating symptoms of joint pain or osteoarthritis due to aging, those caused by cancer treatments like chemotherapy or radiation, hair loss, wounds or incisions, acne, wrinkles and skin discoloration, chronic muscular pain, neurological damage, and tissue damage (often at the root of tears, sprains or pulls). Even seeing and sensing the color red is physically stimulating, primes our senses, and gets our blood pumping, so imagine what red light penetrating right into your body can do. It is literally magic for your skin.
The Blue light therapy kills the acne-causing bacteria known as Propionibacterium acnes, or P acnes, which can cause inflammation. P acnes is sensitive to blue light. Using the blue light eliminates the bacteria found in the oil glands in the skin. So we can also forget considering taking the liver-damaging antibiotics that are prescribed to do the same thing.
Does it hurt?
No not at all. It feels good and relaxing if anything. And you wear protective goggles for your eyes, so it is safe.
Where can I get it?
You can easily have this treatment done professionally at a dermatologist office or a spa. I ordered it off of Amazon and use it all the time. It also comes in a mask form as well. I heard they both work amazingly.
How much is it?
To have the treatment done professionally, the cost of blue light acne therapy ranges from $40 for a single treatment to about $1,000 to $1,500 for a full treatment package, including several weekly sessions. You can buy your own, which I did, on amazon anywhere from $40- $400 and this one literally transformed my skin. So, the at-home-treatment works wonders, too. The red light treatment can run to be a little less expensive and definitely more accessible. The at-home- treatment kits can be way more expensive.
This seriously works. If you want flawless skin, this truly is a beneficial, must treatment.
