FORT WORTH, TEXAS
Whether you stumbled into Fort Worth for work or play, it will be the most pleasant of surprises. And being a native to the city, I obviously know the best of the best.
WHERE TO STAY
Either the Omni Fort Worth Hotel,1300 Houston Street or The Worthington Renaissance Fort Worth Hotel, 200 Main Street.
Both Hotels overlook the downtown skyline, have killer spas, and are close to all of the F.W. hotspots including the Stockyards, TCU, and Cowboys Stadium.
WHERE TO EAT
Joe T Garcias: Mr. Garcias brings you authenticity here in terms of Mexican. You just have to come here if you’re in F.W. They have great patio seating and a fun atmosphere. I would say they are best known for their chips and queso, and, of course, the frozen margs.
Mi Cocina: Amaaaazing mexican, great margs (knock-your-socks-off Mambo Taxis!), also known for their chips and queso. Can you tell I live for chips and queso?
Del Friscos Double Eagle Steakhouse: this is a MUST for at least one dinner. You cannot leave Texas without having the steak and this place has the best. A bit on the pricey side, but totally WORTH it.
Texas De Brazil: Also an amazing steakhouse. Great for dinner, even better for a celebration spot. This is also on the pricier side, but you really do get what you pay for here.
Torchyʼs Taco: Yesssss- this place is the best lunch spot. They have amazing tacos and great fast, easy tex-mex.
Taco Heads: Another great, quick lunch spot with a great patio.
Love Shack: Another great, fun place for lunch. Best known for their amazing burgers.
Yogis: a Fort Worth classic, great breakfast, fast and easy, a fun college student hang over spot.
WHERE TO GO OUT
Whiskey Garden: a bar pool. It really can’t get better than that.
Capital Bar: this place is another must with live country music in a backyard setting.
Landmark Bar and Kitchen: So fun. This place has an awesome outside and inside bar with a mechanical bull on the patio.
Bar Louie: great happy hour, amazing martinis. An upbeat grill with an American pub.
RESERVOIR: Great for sports games and bar food. Fun patio.
Billy Bobʼs- You cannot not come here when you’re in F.W. This place is an iconic, huge country music honky tonk and hosts concerts with an indoor rodeo arena, mechanical bulls, and dozens of cars.
THINGS TO DO
Fort Worth Zoo: you can drink. Shall I go on? If you’re visiting around Halloween Boo at the Zoo is so much fun. The zoo habitats around 7,000 animals.
Fort Worth Botanic Gardens: Lavish landscape, roses, and great scenery for picnics, pictures, they occasionally have concerts in the park so you should definitely look into it before you go.
Kimbell Art Museum, Amon Carter Museum, and the Modern Art Museum. You have to get a little cultured between the honky tonks.
Fort Worth Stockyards- No excuses, you must go. This is an iconic spot with lots of things to do such as longhorns, horses, shopping, and dining.
Further entertainment:
If the season is right you can always catch a football game at either Cowboys Stadium or a baseball game at Rangers stadium.
Sundance Square Downtown is awesome and the Fort Worth Water Gardens and Japaneese Gardens are also beautiful.
Don’t forget Fort Worth is home of Texas Christian University!
Mayfest- this is 3 days in early May with live music, tons of fun games, food, rides, etc. all on the Trinity River.
